Meet Pastor Bill
Pastor Bill Davis has been an ordained Presbyterian Pastor for 44 years. He has served churches in Brockton, Massachusetts; Westside, Iowa; Crown Point, Indiana; and Mount Clemens, Michigan. He also served as Executive Presbyter, overseeing churches in central Nebraska and central Michigan (Lake Huron Presbytery with offices in Saginaw). In most of these calls he served with his wife of 43 years, Pastor Roxie, who was ordained a Presbyterian Pastor in 1976.
Pastor Bill studied hard to prepare to serve God as well as possible in these positions.
Here are his college and seminary degrees:
1966 - Bachelor of Arts from Marietta College, Marietta, Ohio
1971 - Master of Divinity from San Francisco Theological Seminary, San Anselmo, California
1977 - Doctor of Ministry from Andover Newton Theological Seminary, Newton, Massachusetts
2000 - Master of Business Administration from University of Nebraska, Kearney, Nebraska
Pastor Bill says, “It has not been my formal education that has prepared me to serve Jesus Christ as a Pastor and Executive Presbyter, rather it has been my walk with our Lord Jesus Christ that has enabled me to share my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The best way to know Jesus Christ is to try him on, receive Jesus as one’s Lord and Savior and experience his love and power and joy. When we personally know Jesus Christ we have hope that is eternal, and we can feel God’s love and salvation forever.”
Pastors Roxie and Bill retired as Co-Pastors from the Mount Clemens Presbyterian Church in 2013 and moved into a beautiful home on the Black River. When Lakeshore Presbyterian Church in Ft Gratiot was looking for pastoral leadership, he offered to help, and it’s been a match made in heaven. He has enjoyed continuing to serve as a Pastor and the church has grown. Both he and the church have been blessed. He is willing to continue to serve Lakeshore Church as long as the Good Lord is willing.
